Church Backs Anti-Smacking Campaign

A damning report published earlier this month by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Children, called on the Government to drop the Victorian defence of “reasonable chastisement” to excuse smacking a child, a loophole campaigners say has led adults to escape prosecution for child abuse....A number of European countries including Germany, Sweden, Austria and Norway have already passed legislation to protect their children.
