Optimistic Canadian sailors to leave Spanish ports

The smaller boats in the Around Alone race have successfully weathered a massive North Atlantic storm and after five days in port are hoping to put to sea Wednesday...The problem is that strong westerly winds are creating huge waves along the Spanish coast, which makes it dangerous to leave port. All of the fleet, with the exception of Markham's John Dennis, are in Bayona, south of Cape Finisterre. Dennis is about 100 km north, on the east side of Finisterre in the port of La Coruna. Dennis hopes to make a break for it Wednesday morning local time, or 1 a.m. Toronto time.
