Spanish Internet Law Kicking In

A couple of week ago I wrote about the new Spanish internet law, LSSI, and some of its consequences. Well, news today is that Terra Lycos, the Spanish internet provider, has decided that it will no longer permit anonymous users. That means, if you believe local press, such as an article in ABC, that its 300,000 users here in Spain must provide the company not only their identity, but also banking details.

The official reason, according to Terra Lycos, is that this will make it more difficult for those individuals that are involved in child pornography, claiming that they receive information of around 150 cases per week of individuals using their services to traffic in child pornography.
